Mustang ID

The WNMU Card Services Office issues Mustang ID cards and manages ID card-related access to campus-based services, resources and other privileges granted to members of the campus community. The WNMU Card Services Office manages student bookstore financial aid credits, meal plans, flex dollars, Mustang Wallet, faculty/staff meals and general card access privileges including C-Rec.

The Mustang ID acts as a one card system, it can be used for all your needs!

Card Issuance

ID’s are processed in the Business Office located in Castorena Hall

Online Photo Submission and ID Issuance

Online photo submission is also available by choosing the Mustang Card icon under Quick Links in your Mustang Express account. Photos are reviewed by the system to meet ID standards eliminating the wait time for approval internally.

  • Replacement cards can be issued upon request at a cost (see below)

Students

Newly admitted students receive their first Mustang ID upon finalization of registration. The cost of the ID is automatically assessed to your first enrolled semester.

Dual Enrolled Students

Dual enrollment and concurrent high school students can receive a Mustang ID upon request at a cost (see below)

Faculty/Staff

Faculty and staff at WNMU receive their first Mustang ID for free upon hiring.

Community Members

Community members can receive a Mustang ID upon request at a cost (see below) for use in the C-Rec facilities. The Mustang ID in addition to a C-Rec pass is required for facility use. Current C-Rec activities, activity pass costs and hours of operation can be viewed here https://crec.wnmu.edu/.

  • No cost (must present previous ID card)

Adding Money to Your Card

Students, faculty/staff and community members can add money to their Mustang Wallet account. These funds can be used on campus in the dining hall, Einstein Bros. Bagels and the university bookstore. Students can also use these funds in the laundry services within the residence halls.

Faculty/Staff can also add funds to the Faculty/Staff Meals account. These funds can be used in the dining hall for one reduced price meal transaction per day.

Guest deposits to Mustang Wallet can be made on behalf of your WNMU student as well through this link; https://eacct-wnmu-sp.transactcampus.com/eaccounts/AnonymousHome.aspx. Just choose on Make a Guest Deposit and you will be directed to add the student ID of who you wish to contribute to replacing the leading W with a 0.

Visa, Mastercard and Discover cards are accepted online. Funds can be loaded into either of these stored value accounts through your Mustang Express account.

Or through our eAccounts direct portal; https://eacct-wnmu-sp.transactcampus.com/eaccounts/AnonymousHome.aspx using your Mustang Express login credentials for access.

Guest deposits can also be made through this link. The student ID, or W number, will be required for appropriate posting to occur.

Funds can always be loaded in person in the Business Office during normal operating hours. Cash or credit/debit card can be used when paying in person.

Caring for your Card

Here are a few rules for keeping your card in working order

  • Keep your ID card away from magnets and cell phones. These can erase the encoded card information.
  • Do not punch holes in your ID card.
  • Clean your ID card with warm water and mild soap and dry it with a soft cloth so as to not scratch the mag stripe.

Mustang Card Policies

The Mustang ID is your college ID and should be carried at all times. It is property of Western New Mexico University and must be surrendered when requested by officials. The cardholder will receive reimbursement of remaining funds if card is permanently surrendered.

Funds can be added to the Mustang ID either at Card Services or in our eAccounts portal through Mustang Express. A minimum of $1 can be added.

Students who are attending Western New Mexico University but are also enrolled as high school students will have to pay a fee to obtain a Mustang ID.

The Mustang ID’s use is governed by the policies and procedures of Western New Mexico University and is NON-TRANSFERABLE. WNMU is not responsible for loss or expense resulting from the loss, theft or misuse of this card. A replacement fee will be charged if this card is lost, damaged or stolen (without a police report).

Lost or stolen cards should be reported to the Card Services office as soon as possible. Participants can deactivate their own card through the eAccounts portal by choosing on Card Services and then Deactivate Card. However, only the Card Services office has the ability to reactivate the card once it has been recovered.

The participants Mustang ID will be the access device for various stored value accounts. The card must be presented at the time of purchase and will be the only means of accessing the participant’s account.

Refunds on closed accounts will be made at the full value of unused balances as long as the balance exceeds $10. NO refunds will be made for balances less than $10.

  • Refunds will be processed to the original form of payment first in cases of credit/debit card purchases.
  • Direct deposit refunds will be issued if available.
  • Check refunds will be issued only if the balance is over $20.

All debts owed to Western New Mexico University must be satisfied prior to a refund being issued. Any negative balances will be charged to the account holders student account or billed directly. WNMU does not pay interest on any credit balances in your account or on any funds included in an overpayment prior to the refund.

By using the Mustang ID stored value accounts, you agree you will not make your card available to anyone else, including orally, in writing, or by telephone. Additional ID may be required to ensure that only the participant uses the account. The participant may be required to sign a receipt for goods.

Western New Mexico University reserves the right to determine hours of operation and pricing for the goods and services available for purchase with these accounts.

By using the Mustang ID you agree to the Campus Recreation Terms and Conditions and Waiver of Liability.

Campus Recreation

  • The University Reserves the right to revoke the license granted by this permit.
  • Usage is valid for only those periods
    as scheduled by the University.
  • Cards and memberships are non-transferrable and non-refundable.

Waiver of Liability

  • As a condition of accepting use privileges as granted by this permit, I hereby agree to hold the University harmless in case of accident or injury unless specifically caused by negligence of the University.
